Beaute Nouveau Facial Skin Care Review & ApotheBeauty Opens in San Diego

Picture and reviews of Beauty Nouveau Facial Starter set and Face Polish, and all natural skin care line in San Diego founded by makeup artist Lacey Haegen

Who is excited for another new San Diego skin care boutique? ME! Makeup artist Lacey Haegen and founder of Beaute Nouveau is opening a new skin care spot, ApotheBeauty in October!

Update: ApotheBeauty is here!

Beaute Nouveau Botanical Beauty Face Polish Review

This is a delicious and not too fragrant grapefruit, lemon and sweet orange facial scrub – luckily not as sweet or overly fragrant as their Sugar Balm body scrub (which does come in a variety of scents actually).

When you really want that strong, deep exfoliating feeling (similar to Acure brightening scrub), this natural ingredient wonder does the trick. Exfoliating should be a key step in dark spot, melasma and hyperpigmentation treatment. Their cleansing milk formula, sea salt, sugar crystals, baking soda and apple cider vinegar combine with honey, shea butter, almond oil, babassu oil, goat milk and essential oils to cleanse, scrub and moisturize my face. I also LOVE to use it as a hand and body scrub – it leaves my skin feeling less greasy than the sugar balm body scrub. I use it about once a week on my face and body. While it is a physical exfoliant, I don’t think it is too harsh as to exacerbate my vitiligo.

Beaute Nouveau Facial Starter Set Review

This is an awesome kit to get more exposure to the Beauty Nouveau natural skin care line complete with 5 skin care essentials for a great facial routine.

Beaute Nouveau Cleansing Oil Review

This is a really lovely non-fragrant natural cleansing oil. I think it’s my favorite non-toxic cleansing oil I’ve tried in the past 2 years – great for removing makeup. My mom has always used Erno Lazslo phelytil cleansing oil as part of her daily face routine so I’m accustomed to a 2-part face cleansing system with oil to remove impurities as a pre-cleanse. The blend of cherry, camelia (like Tatcha face oil), peach and rice bran oil is a gentle and not-too-greasy makeup remover.

Beaute Nouveau Lavendar and Lemon Cleansing Milk Review

Believe it or not, I like this cleansing milk even though it has lavender (and I love just about anything with lemon!). I’ve been switching to more creamy, milk face cleansers this year (instead of gel or my once beloved Boscia charcoal cleanser), so this is a great daily addition to my routine.

This goat milk, almond oil, babassu oil, shea butter and apple cider vinegar cleansing blend leaves my skin feeling fresh but soft and moisturized. It’s very gentle – I would recommend for sensitive skin. This cleanser works well for morning or evening.

Beaute Nouveau Chamomile Flower Water Review

I’ve collected an astounding number of face mists this year! I’m not a huge fan of chamomile scents, but luckily this isn’t too strong. I don’t use this too often as a face mist, but I do use this flower essence, vitamin and mineral hydrosol to mix if dry clay face masks for application.

Beaute Nouveau Creme Nouveau Review

This natural skin care facial starter kit is a great way to sample the pricier creme nouveau cream. This rich, lush balmy creamy definitely has that freshly blended small-batch feel. It boasts a long list of ingredients – I can definitely sense the apricot oil, shea butter and essential oils (luckily not too much shea or essential oils for me). This is very moisturizing and the buttery texture absorbs well into the skin. It does leave a slightly oily residue for some time, so I mostly use this at night and not in the morning underneath makeup. This is also great to nourish and soothe rough elbows, knees and hands.

Beaute Nouveau Scrub Buds Review

These little pods of silk are pretty cool – you soak them in water and apply them to your index finger. I like using them around my nose. I use them mostly as part of the cleansing ritual, but you can actually use these after you have applied creme nouveau as well. I’m going to need to buy a separate box of them soon!

Whether you are a green skin care novice or professional, I would highly recommend this facial kit to get to know the Beaute Nouveau brand.
