New 2018 UPPAbaby Minu Stroller Review vs BabyZen YoYo and Nuna Strollers

I can’t believe this time last year we were getting our nursery ready and setting up everything for the baby and our humble abode. We are still so grateful and humble for our generous our friends and family were – I guess they had waited a very long time for our sweet bundle too 🙂

2 of the most amazing gifts we received were our Nuna Pipa carseat and Nuna Mixx 2 stroller. We had researched like most parents to be and when we saw them in person we just knew – these were the uber safe vessels for our most precious angel.

Why the Fantastic Nuna Mixx2 Stroller Didn’t Work for our Family

Fast forward a few months to trying to get out of the house with our baby: the Nuna carseat is so light! but the Cadillac of strollers was not made for vertical living!

We thought we thought of everything, but alas we didn’t factor that our giant stroller wouldn’t always work well sitting in our entry way in our townhome. And our home starts on the second floor.

  • You know what you can’t do (well)? Hold a baby in one hand and drag a beautiful by giant stroller down the stairs frequently.
  • We could keep it in a garage or a patio…if we had one 🙁
  • The best scenario we could find was keeping it in a car on the street, but this also proved difficult.
  • This stroller can’t even fit in the trunk of a Honda Civic. It barely fits in the trunk of a Subaru Forester.

This amazing, beautiful piece of equipment that our baby LOVED to walk in, loved to nap in just wasn’t practical anymore. It broke my heart to find it a new home – I couldn’t stop thinking of staring at my brand new baby in it while we walked – but it was time. Little angel didn’t want to face me on a walk anyway! And our stroller made it to a new happy home with a family one one story and a garage to store it.

The Best Compact Hybrid Umbrella Strollers on the Market

So what would we get next? We need something that would last years (as we had planned with the Nuna Mixx). We needed something that was agile for urban living and would work well for an every day stroller and a travel stroller.

Babyzen YoYo Stroller Review

As I shared our stroller journey with others I received lots of feedback on what to get next. A french coworker said it’s all anyone uses back home and what everyone encouraged her to get. Within days I was on the hunt to see this little magician of a stroller in person – I couldn’t believe how small and compact the Babyzen YoYo folded into – unreal! So small! Able to easily fit in an overhead bin. Wear it on your shoulder. It might even way less than your baby! But the wheels looked so sparse compared to the giant tires of our Nuna. We were used to shop absorption – that would be a tough wheel transition for our boo boo.

Best Mini Top of the Line Umbrella Stroller Winner: The New 2018 Uppababy Minu Stroller

We went to see models of strollers again when we happened into Bloomingdales and their helpful staff pointed out a new option – the Uppababy Minu. It’s wheels were sturdier. It has a bar handle vs two handled traditional umbrella stroller like the Uppababy Jake. The stroller seat has more adjustments and is sturdier. It comes in cool colors and the best yet – you can hold your baby in one arm while you open or close with one hand and you can sling it over your shoulder!

Fast forward a few months later and we are so in love! We recommend this stroller to everyone. It’s also compatible (with adapters) with other brand car seats like the Nuna Pipa! And believe it or not you can fit a giant diaper bag in the bottom basket 🙂

If you have been thinking about the UPPAbaby Vista or Cruz strollers, I also encourage you to re-evaluate your home situation. If you live in a small space, or an apartment or a multi-story unit, you will prefer to have a more agile stroller like the Minu!
