The Best of Bite Beauty: High Pigment Pencils vs Amuse Bouche Lipsticks and More

Some of my BITE Beauty organic and natural favorites: the Agave Lip Mask in Champagne, High Pigment Pencils creamy lipstick crayons and the lip liner in 012 and matte lip crayon in Glace

I’m still mourning the loss (discontinuance) of Bite Beauty Buttercream lipsticks. They were so luscious and unscented! My BITE Beauty multisticks review has been so popular, I knew I needed to share the rest of my BITE Beauty collection.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Reviews and Swatches

The Good: These beauties are high moisture, high intensity lipsticks with a great creamy texture. These were a great switch to ease into when I was trying to migrate away from the Urban Decay Naked lipsticks. They are surprisingly long-lasting for such a creamy formula. I love the healthy, “edible oils” formulation of Bite Beauty – I wear a lot of lipstick to detract from my upper lip melasma so it’s nice to wear formulas that are relatively OK to accidentally ingest. These small-batch formulas are also made with lots of organic ingredients.

The Not So Good: The added flavor / fragrance really holds me back from loving these. These are the most scented products from Bite Beauty. It’s too much for my sensitive sense of smell most days to wear these on a regular basis. If they didn’t have any added flavors, I would wear these more often for sure.

My favorite colors are Meringue, Sugarcane and Gingersnap (already featured on my paraben free coral lipstick post)

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencils Reviews and Swatches

I love these lipstick pencils! Most of the time I prefer lipstick crayons to traditional lipstick because they are easier to apply and my lips too easily ruin the shame of traditional bullet lipsticks. These are less chubby than a Clinique chubby stick moisturizing lip color balm. They are also less thick (tube-wise), more pigmented and have much better ingredients than Revlon Colorburst lip crayons and stains.

The best part about this awesome organic ingredient hybrid lipstick / lip liners : they are mostly unscented! (unlike the Amuse Bouche lipsticks).

I’d love to collect more colors over time, but right now I’m trying make do with owning and finishing my first 4 of them 🙂

Syrah – an exquisite perfectly neutral peach color. Even more beautiful than BITE Beauty multistick in Creme Caramel – very Rene Russo circa The Thomas Crown Affair.

Bouquet – a perfect pale pink. This was my first of these colors and it’s time to buy again!

Velvet – a nice wearable magenta

Chablis – my newest high pigment lipstick crayon. It’s a nice deep coral red. This is one of the darkest lipstick colors I have and the closest I have to “red”. (And it always reminds me of the name of the character the Lady Chablis and many moons ago when my old roommate and some friends and I were really into that movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil for a few weeks :)).

Other Favorites: Bite Beauty Agave Lipstick and Lip Pencil

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask Review

My friend Daniele recommended this to me about 2 years ago and I totally fell in love. I use this most every night – often over my favorite lip balms – and when I wake up my lips are so soft and smooth. I took a friend with me to the Sephora VIB rouge sale with me a few weeks ago and I made her get the classic agave lip mask and a high pigment pencil – she is certainly not disappointed. I keep the clear next to my bed and the Champagne color in my purse – the Champagne and the Smashed hardly have any color fyi. These have a lot of the same ingredients to the Bite Beauty lipsticks but with the addition of lanolin.

Bite Beauty the Lip Pencil Review

I don’t use lip liners a lot so I don’t have much to say here. I do like it and I like the ingredients. It’s fairly long-lasting so I would recommend it, but I also don’t have a lot to compare it to.

Bite Beauty Line and Define Lip Primer Review

I think this does help to keep lipstick in place, but I don’t like the minty flavor – I’m so minted out of minty aromas, flavors and fragrances with lip products. I can’t stand it anymore. Mostly because of the minty-ness I forget to use this lip primer.

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon Review

I’ve tested these a lot in store trying to find my ideal color, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on buying one yet. Luckily, I got one – either as a VIB rouge benefit, with Sephora rewards points or in a Sephora Play box – I can’t remember but I was definitely stoked to get one. I’m trying to play around with this more, but I’m a little hesitant to go full on matte with my lip finish. The Glace color I have is also very dramatic so I don’t wear it much.

Bite Beauty Silk Creme Lipsticks Review

These were some of Bite Beauty’s original lipsticks that helped me fall in love with this brand. Much like the way of the DoDo and my beloved Bite Beauty butter cream lipsticks, these are also discontinued. I understand why Bite Beauty needed to reinvent their traditional lipstick products – the Amuse Bouche lipsticks do last longer and are more pigmented, but I so wish they didn’t have the added “citrus” flavor.
