Who’s ready for Whole Foods Beauty Sale of 2018!? This is an amazing time to save 20-25% on awesome beauty products. They also normally have a great beauty gift bag as well. Time to call your store ASAP to confirm dates locally.
Last year I stocked up on Mad Hippie Beauty products – a high quality, medium to low price point green and clean beauty brand. I love that they don’t include parabens, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrance, PEGs and SLS. They also donate a portion of websales to conservation! Here is my experience with this great brand so far:
Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum with Ferulic Acid and Konjac Root Review
This Vitamin C Serum with Ferulic Acid is probably their hottest product and for good reason – it’s significantly less than other luxury beauty brand versions of this product (SkinCeuticals, Drunk Elephant C-Firma, Marie Veronique) and it has a non-offensive smell, which can’t be always said of the SkinCeuticals version.
Would I categorize this as a miracle worker? No, but I think it is an excellent vitamin C serum for sensitive skin. I will absolutely be stocking up on this vitamin C serum this year at the 2018 Whole Foods Beauty Sale. This is an awesome introductory Vitamin C serum (I feel strongly that everyone should use vitamin C most every day).
Bonus: Konjac root has a reputation for skin brightening (although I don’t feel it has moved the needle with my dark spot and melasma issues).
This serum is so light, easy and highly absorbent. .
Mad Hippie Cream Cleanser Review
I really like this creamy natural cleanser. It was my new favorite in 2017 after I switched from Boscia Charcoal cleanser. It cleans effectively but is gentle enough for sensitive skin. Some of it’s start ingredients are green tea, algae, vitamin E, orchid extract and jojoba. It doesn’t have any added fragrance (#praisebe) but it does have a bit of a sweet scent.
It’s texture is gorgeous and at $16 it has an excellent price point already. If you’re not into or don’t have time for double-cleansing or oil face cleansers, I highly recommend cream vs gel cleansers and this Mad Hippie cleanser is a green beauty winner.
Mad Hippie Hydrating Nutrient Mist
This hydrating but brightening mist is hot on my list for this year’s Whole Foods Beauty sale and I will report back. I’m trying to be good, stick to my beauty budget and not overbuy but I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about this mist lately (and I’m curious how it compares to my newest toner – Indie Lee CoQ-10 toning lotion)
Mad Hippie Face Cream Review
This is a very nice product. It’s packed with antioxidants and skin care super stars like niacinamide, reservatrol, peptides, acai and pomegranate. It absorbs easily and is thin enough to wear nicely under makeup. However it is just nice, and I’m not looking for nice – I’m looking for skin care that is amazing and brings me so much joy.
It’s definitely better than ultra-low price organic and green skin care brand Acure, and better than FAB face creams too. But it certainly doesn’t hold a candle to my beloved Drunk Elephant Lala Retro or Protini. I did pass it along to my skin-care-newbie friend and she loves it!
Mad Hippie Eye Cream Review
Similar to the Mad Hippie Face Cream, I found this eye cream to be nice. This is a perfectly fine introductory eye cream whether you are into clean, organic or natural beauty or conventional, but it’s not quite the right eye cream texture for me (more on my favorite eye creams later). If you are into more of a gel eye treatment vs a cream, I recommend Skin Owl eye gel.
